Queen Elizabeth II acceded to the throne in 1952 upon the death of her father, King George VI. Elizabeth married Prince Philip in 1947, with whom she has four children: Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s son, named George Alexander Louis, is third in line to the throne after Prince Charles and Prince William. The marriage ended in divorce in 1996 but the split was friendly and the pair still share Andrew’s Windsor home.
